Mihai Lazăr, CFA, is Tribe Lead Investments at ING Bank Romania, where he leads the development and growth of the bank’s investment business. His role focuses on creating solutions and digital experiences that make investing more accessible and relevant for clients, helping them build long-term financial prosperity. With more than 20 years of experience in banking, capital markets and fintech, Mihai has built his career at the intersection of strategy, innovation and business development.

Before rejoining ING, he served as Country Manager of Ebury Romania, overseeing the fintech’s local operations and supporting Romanian companies in their international expansion through payments, foreign exchange and cross-border financial solutions. Previously, he spent nearly 12 years with Raiffeisen Bank Romania and Raiffeisen Capital & Investment, holding leadership positions across capital markets, institutional sales and organizational transformation. He also worked for ING Bank Romania between 2007 and 2012 as Head of Cash Equity Sales, contributing to the development of institutional investor relationships and brokerage activities.

Mihai holds a degree from the Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and is a CFA Charterholder. He also holds professional certifications in areas such as private wealth management, ESG investing and digital transformation. A strong advocate of financial education and long-term investing, Mihai believes that access to capital markets is essential for economic development and for strengthening society’s financial resilience.

Outside of work, he is passionate about endurance sports, particularly triathlon and mountain biking. For Mihai, investing and endurance sports share many similarities: success is built through consistency, discipline and a long-term perspective.
