Alexandra Maria Ioana Corbea is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. She holds a PhD in Economic Informatics and has over 15 years of academic experience, teaching courses in databases, business intelligence, information systems design, and software development for data-driven applications. Her areas of expertise include business information systems, data integration and quality, decision support systems, business analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning applied to business contexts.

Her research activity focuses on the design and evaluation of information systems for decision support, data integration and analytics, business intelligence, and the application of AI and machine learning in economic and organizational environments. She has authored and co-authored books, journal articles, and conference papers on topics including business process management, data quality, business analytics, decision support, energy-market information systems, e-commerce, and, more recently, generative AI and its adoption in higher education. She has also been involved in several national research and educational projects, both as project leader/responsible and as a member of interdisciplinary research teams.
