Jos van der Velden is a Senior Global Academic Program Manager at SAS and an Invited Lecturer at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Madrid, Spain). With more than 25 years of experience in analytics, data science education, and industry-academic collaboration, he has held a variety of technical, consulting, alliance management within SAS across the Netherlands, Portugal, and the broader EMEA region.

At SAS, Jos supports universities, educators, students, and researchers in adopting analytics and artificial intelligence technologies, helping align academic programs with evolving industry requirements. His work focuses on curriculum development, academic partnerships, technical enablement, responsible AI, and data literacy. As a lecturer, he teaches SAS programming and data analytics to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

His areas of interest include business intelligence, machine learning, responsible AI, data ethics, and the development of practical analytical skills that enhance graduate employability. Jos holds a degree in Horticultural Engineering from HAS Green Academy (Netherlands) and is a certified SAS consultant.
