Career Focus

The Technology & Operations Management course is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of how technology can be strategically applied to enhance operations management practices.
The course will provide students with practical experiences through case studies, simulations, and projects that allow them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations, preparing them for challenges they may face in their careers.

 

Educational Objectives

At the end of the course students will be able to:

• define the key concepts specific to operations management in the context of new digital transformation processes;

• understand operations management principles. Students will gain a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of operations management, including process analysis, quality control, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
• use key technological tools and systems that enhance operational efficiency, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, or Supply Chain Management (SCM) applications.
• integrate AI and Robotics into Operations
• understand the role of technology in promoting sustainable operations practices, focusing on how technology can help achieve environmental sustainability and ethical operations.

 

Course Content

Students will be introduced to the fundamental principles of operations management and the critical role that technology plays in enhancing operational efficiency, quality, and competitiveness. They will also examine a wide array of technological tools and systems, including ERP, CRM, SCM, data analytics, AI, and robotics, that are pivotal in transforming operations management.

 

Grading

Grading will be based on active attendance at the course (by participating in the seminar and exam activities) and a written exam.
